Another watercolor illustration for my project~
Hanschen and Ernst in the vineyard this time. yeah I don’t know how to draw a vineyard and Hanschen looks like a weirdo. But there you go!
Has anyone here read Mine-Haha (Mine-haha oder über die körperliche Erziehung der junger mädchen)?
Moritz this time. He’s supposed to be burning Frau Gabor’s letter, but I got kinda carried away with the fire so now it looks like he’s holding a torch…
watercolors are funnnn
FRANK WEDEKIND AS THE MASKED MAN
Wedekind is such a BAMF
(Source: , via frankwedekindsspringawakening)
Was listening to some workshop versions of Spring Awakening songs… I really like how in the end of Touch Me, Moritz says “I swear! I’d a hundred times rather feel what the girl must feel.” I really liked this aspect of his character in the original play, in this scene particularly he seems to really glorify this passive role that he imagines, while Melchior is like, “yeah whatever I don’t like to think about that”. Also, the musical doesn’t have the whole story about the Headless Queen that he can’t get out of his mind, does it? That was really interesting too. I think I’m a little obsessed with Wedekind…

Read some of this. Makes me see clearly why I like Spring Awakening and Frank Wedekind’s works so much.
I want to read Lulu but I’m afraid the version I got from the library may be all butchered up like Spring Awakening. sigh… Also Franziska, which I can’t find anywhere.
Seeing these links between Wedekind, Bretch and Walter Benjamin almost makes the later’s thesis more bearable to read for Art History class (it’s cool but IT’S HARD MY CREYS)
Just watched “Innocence” by Lucile Hadzihalilovic, based in Frank Wedekind’s “Mine-Haha” which I really like. Pretty cool! Trying to get inspired to start my Composition project..
Seriously, this book cut several random bits of conversation, deliberately changed lines to make them more vague, no beating scene, no description of violence/abuse, no Hänschen getting off to postcards, no gay vineyard scene… I think these guys probably considered cutting Wendla and Melchior having sex and just having a stork appear and kill her. Yeah.
